So I find myself in the legal dilemma. Many of you know my piece “memories of a martyr” and apparently so do the fashion elite of Greece. I have recently been informed that my piece as been pilfered by a clothing company, Edward jeans, that’s based in Greece. What really surprises me is this company looks accomplished enough to pay a designer instead of stealing from a wee little artists like myself.

So here’s the deal. I have no idea what to do about it or even if I can take legal action (and I sure as hell don’t have the money for a lawyer). Will the American copyright laws apply to a Greek company? I didn’t have a watermark on the piece so does that mean it’s up for grabs? I’m so lost on the situation. If anyone out there can help me and lend some advice I would be grateful.

Another thing that blows about this is I’m going to have to start watermarking my art now. Which isn’t fair to people who just want to look at the art instead of using it for evil. The whole point in putting it on the internet is so you people can see it and a watermark completely disrupts a pieces composition. But I don’t want to have to go through all this red type again! I’m so sorry! Hopefully I’ll be able to make an effective watermark that’s not completely obtrusive. Grr!

Anyways, anyone have a clue?
